Bibliography - The Dolly Series (Johnson Johnson)

While not having quite as many different editions and publishers as the Lymond Chronicles, the Dollys are further complicated by the different titles under which they were produced and by the fact that they were originally published under Dorothy's maiden name - Halliday. The information below is probably incomplete as there were far fewer copies produced coompared to the historical books and the earlier ones are much rarer. If anyone knows of editions not listed here please get in touch and let me know.

The first titles were produced when Dorothy was still with Cassell. The US editions were initially published in the late 1960s, and the US title changes were made to avoid any possible offense to the then US President's wife - Ladybird Johnson.

They were completely out of print for around 15 years before a small publisher called House of Stratus republished them around 2012. Then they disappeared again until now...

New Reissues

Happily they have now been picked up by Farrago Books and are being published in both paperback and ebook formats. They are using the renamed UK titles and Tropical Isssue was published on 13th April 2023, with the rest to follow at rougly monthly intervals. There were also German editions of the Dollys published by Ullstein Verlag - dates I've seen so far have been 1987 and 1994. They have ridiculously suggestive and inappropriate covers which are quite funny. I have some of these myself which came from Dorothy's house.
